Joelene Huber, MD, MSc(A), PhD, FRCPC - Pediatrics 

Medical Doctor

Dr. Joelene Huber is a mother and medical doctor (pediatrics) in Toronto and is one of Canada's leading health and wellness media experts, providing knowledge translation (KT) of health information to the public through television, web, and print media. She obtained her medical degree (MD) from McMaster University, her MSc(A) from McGill University and her PhD in Medical Science and Neuroscience from the University of Toronto. She completed her medical residency training at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto and also completed two additional years of subspecialty training in Toronto. She works in the Inner City Health Program at St. Michael's Hospital and is an associate member in the division of Neurology at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.

Dr. Huber appears regularly as a medical expert guest providing health and wellness tips on daytime television and health knowledge translation (KT) and "news-you-can-use" on news programs. She has appeared as an on-air expert approximately 50 times on all of the major networks including: Global News - The Morning Show (view a segment), CTV News (view a segment), CBC News (view a segment), CityLine (view a segment and blog), Breakfast Television (view a segment),  Rogers Daytime (view a segment) and CTV's The Social (view a segment and blog). Dr. Huber is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto. She is a medical expert author in two health textbooks, is active in health research, and has published a number of medical research articles. Her current research focuses on Smartphone app development for teaching and training children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and neurotypically-developing children about health and safety.

As a physician, she feels a responsibility to be a health and fitness advocate and is actively involved in fitness and sports. She has been featured as an inspirational fitness role model in Oxygen Fitness Magazine and writes for Inside Soccer magazine (featured on the cover and in the June/July, 2013, May/June 2014 and June/July 2015 issues, click here to view). She is also a medical expert for STRONG Fitness magazine.

Above all, Joelene's greatest joy is her family and being the mom of two active, happy children.
